A girl suffered from a severe case of myopia with -20 diopter. This meant she had very weak eyes and the slightest pressure could cause injury to them. As she was playing with her siblings, her sister's finger happened to push her eye causing dislocation of the lens into the anterior chamber.
She was immediately taken to Dr Basaiawmoit who removed the damaged lens and repaired the eye by way of surgery. The patient's eyesight could have been lost but Dr Basaiawmoit made sure that after the operation, the girl was able to see with both her eyes.
